Effective 7 October 2026. Petrol 95 rose 333c/L and 93 rose 312c/L, taking petrol past R30/L for the first time. The Minister cited Brent crude rising from US$87.89 to US$101 on average, higher international product prices, and a 4.38c/L rise in the slate levy to 87.66c/L.

For a typical car using about 10.4 L/100km in real driving and doing 1 250 km a month, a change of R3.33/L is about R433 a month more. See what your own car costs, and whether a hybrid would save you money →
