Pick 2 to 4 cars (petrol, diesel, hybrid or electric) and see them side by side: price, power, fuel use, boot, warranty and what each costs to run a month. 102 models and 231 versions, every figure linked to the brand's official South African source.

How to read this. ★ marks the best value in each row (cheapest, most power, lowest fuel use, biggest boot and so on); shaded rows are where the cars differ. "Not published" means the brand's official SA material we checked doesn't give that figure, so we leave it blank rather than guess. Click the small number next to a value to see its source. Prices are the brand's published recommended retail price on the date shown and can change; "From" and promotional prices are flagged. Fuel use is the brand's claimed figure; real-world use is usually higher.
Running cost = km × claimed fuel use × fuel price. Petrol is R30.25/L (95 inland, official, 2026-10-07). Diesel is R32.80/L (50ppm wholesale list price, Gauteng, official DMPR/CEF, from 2026-10-07). Pump prices for diesel aren't regulated and are usually a bit higher, so enter what you pay to override it. Charging at home? See what home charging costs on your tariff. Electricity is R3.6/kWh plus 10% charging losses. Plug-in hybrids assume 70% of km on electricity and 6 L/100km with the battery empty (our estimate; brands rarely publish it).
Safety: star ratings are shown only where Global NCAP has tested the South African-spec car ("Safer Cars for Africa"). Ratings apply to the exact version and build period tested, and Global NCAP Africa tests are not the same as Euro NCAP or ANCAP, so stars aren't comparable across them. A blank doesn't mean a car is unsafe, only that it hasn't been tested there.
Information only: we don't sell or list cars and nobody pays to appear here.
